DMEXCO has been described as a meeting place for media professionals, techies, visionaries and marketing pros. It is a celebration of digital marketing and an amazing conference, that takes place in Cologne, Germany. The event has previously welcomed executives from Facebook, Instagram, Google and Twitter along with guest speakers such as WPP’s CEO Martin Sorrell and Omnicom Digitals CEO Jonathon Nelson. Some believe it to be the top event of the digital year.

3.Cannes Lions (France)

What started out as an International Advertising Festival has evolved exponentially into what we now call The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The festival runs for seven days and is a celebration of those who work in advertising, creative communications, and other related fields. It is essentially The Oscars for designers, digital marketers and advertising professionals on a global level.

6.Social Media Week (London)

Social Media Week London is a 3 day long event featuring talks, interviews, panel discussions and workshops with industry experts, spread out over 50 individual sessions. These sessions will showcase everything that is social media including but not limited to VR demonstrations and other related social technology. 7.Web Summit (Lisbon)

What started as nothing more than a simple idea by Irishmen Paddy Cosgrave, David Kelly and Daire Hickey, has grown to become a huge global meeting of tech minds. Since its founding in Dublin 2010, the yearly attendance has grown from just 500 to over 50,000 people with speakers including big celebrities like Eva Longoria and Bono, to CEOs of the hottest apps and tech companies.

Since 2016, Web Summit now takes place in Lisbon, Portugal.

8. SXSW (Austin, Texas)

South by Southwest, or SXSW as it has now become known, is probably the biggest event on the digital calendar. Originally a music festival, SXSW evolved to becoming a 10-day conglomerate of film, music, interactive media and conferences.
