From secret manicured gardens to spooky underground spaces, London has a lot to offer when it comes to booking an incredible venue for your next event.

We take a look at some of London’s most impressive venues that will give your event that extra WOW factor.

1.The Old Truman Brewery

Nestled off Brick Lane in the heart of trendy Shoreditch, the previously derelict Old Truman Brewery has been lovingly restored over the past 15 years to create an eclectic mix of event, retail, and office space. It has hosted just about every type of event you can imagine, from conferences, to fashion shows, photo and film shoots, pop ups, and experiential marketing for top brands. Offering a range of spaces from the stunning Grade II listed Boiler House, the cavernous warehouse development known as F BLOCK, the landmark Truman Chimney, and the sprawling outside space capable of holding up to 3000 people, this place really does offer something to suit everyone’s needs.

Featuring spaces ranging between 646 up to 3,500 square feet, the only real limit is your imagination. There’s space to hold something as intimate as a lunch for 40 guests in The Kitchen, a Pop Up Shop in Shop 7, which has seen the likes of Calvin Klein, Rapha Racing, and American Apparel take advantage of the high footfall in recent years, or if you’re looking to run a larger event in the industrial F BLOCK you have the option of several different unique options.

When your event is over, you and your guests also have the high-end bars, restaurants, and cafés available to sample in the newly regenerated ‘Yard’ space, which is home to Michelin starred celebrity chef Adam Handling’s The Frog. While you’re there, check out the permanent Banksy as well as the other street art which makes the area so special.

2.Landing Forty Two

Hire the 42nd floor of the building fondly referred to by the locals as ‘The Cheesegrater’, and you’ll be treated to some spectacular panoramic views across the city that we call home. This is London’s highest dedicated event space, and for an extra thrill, is served by the fastest scenic lifts in Europe. The actual space somehow manages to impart an industrial ‘rough n ready’ vibe, with exposed brick work, and air ducts snaking their way around the ceiling, while being bang up to date with sophisticated LED colour changing atmospheric lighting, full sound system, and Wifi all available for you to use.

Located 500ft above the City in the heart of the financial district, you’ll have 5000 square feet of space to make your own, with a capacity of 300 people for a reception, 220 for dining (this venue also allows external caterers meaning you can really go to town on your menu) or 200 for a theatre-style presentation; the sky really is the limit with this spectacular venue. Yes, you could pay the premium for The Shard, but we’re not sure why you’d want to when this absolute gem is just a stone’s throw further up the river.

3.The Royal Exchange

You just have to take one step inside this internationally recognised symbol of London’s leading position in global trade and finance, to know you’re experiencing something special. Originally built in the 16thCentury and rebuilt twice since, after being destroyed first in the Great Fire of London in 1666, and a subsequent fire in 1838; history seeps out of every crevice in this unique historical setting. This Grade I listed building was extensively remodelled in 2001 and now accommodates a collection of the world’s finest luxury brands, shops and restaurants, creating a dramatic and lavish backdrop for any event; large or small.

Offering up to 140m2 to get creative with, and spaces ranging from a small intimate dinner in the Private Rooms, a reception in the mezzanine Gallery restaurant & bar for up to 500, to 800 people in the opulent Courtyard- a space which can be transformed into an impressive setting for drinks receptions, parties or networking events. Hiring this space guarantees something unique and highly creative which really steps outside the realms of the usual function room.

4.The Roof Gardens

Unless you’re already a member of this plush club, you’ll probably be surprised to find that high above Kensington High Street, you’ll find over 1.5 acres of beautifully manicured, themed gardens- complete with flamingos and other natural wildlife; a world away from the hustle and bustle of the streets below. Events held here are nothing short of outstanding, and if you’ve got the dough to spend, it’s available to non-members for anything from weddings, meetings, training days or summer BBQ’s. Due to this venue being a private members club, private hire is only available Monday to Saturday during the day, Monday to Thursday evenings or all day Sunday.

Up to 500 people can be accommodated, and although this exceptional venue is outside, they have a marquee to combat our infamous British summer weather, which is heated in the winter to ensure that guests can take advantage of one of London’s most beautiful locations all year round.

5.The Vaults at Waterloo

From fabulous rooftop gardens, to the spooky, sprawling underground world of Waterloo Station, The Vaults is a relatively new multi-disciplinary space, which offers nearly 30,000 square feet of accessible and flexible Victorian brickwork, combined with more modern abandoned 1970’s style office space. It is fully licensed and offers 9 different arches to hire, which can be hired as one maze through which to guide your guests on a journey, or as individual spaces.

Just some of the distinctive spaces available to hire include a permanent theatre, seating up to 176 people, suitable for performances or cinema screenings, a sinister, damp, dingy and atmospheric tunnel constantly rumbling with the trains overhead, or a weird mezzanine office space complete with corrugated walls and see-through floor. If you’re looking for a space that encourages the bold, fresh, and fearless, that will really get your guests talking with the added bonus of being right underneath one of London’s main train stations, then look no further than this.
