It’s been another busy year in Verve! In 2016, our teams worked with clients all over the UK and Ireland, from music festivals to stadiums, delivering top notch events and activations.

With the year drawing to a close, we look back at some of our favourite gigs of the year.

AIB – A Bank To Believe In

Kicking things off in January, we helped our client AIB launch their A Bank To Believe In campaign with a nationwide roadshow for internal senior staff. Working with AIB, we created a look and feel for the event that was used on everything from backdrops to booklets.  We also built a bespoke website that allowed AIB employees from multiple locations to register for events in their area, as well generating and sending a series of email invitations and follow up emails.

Magnum Experience @ Arnotts

In May, we worked with our client Unilever again to bring to life their Magnum Experience store. All summer long, the Magnum pop-up in Arnotts on Henry Street gave the public the opportunity to design their very own Magnums with an array of premium toppings. We managed the store for 10 weeks until it closed at the end of August.

Just Eat Waiters & Just Eat Retreat

It’s been a busy year for Just Eat. We helped the delivery experts bring food to the masses at Ireland’s top music festivals all year long. The Just Eat Waiters took food orders at Body&Soul Festival, Electric Picnic, The Beatyard, City Spectacular, Sea Sessions, Metropolis and more, and delivered top-notch festivals feasts to the hungry revellers.

We also helped Just Eat create super-cool, branded dining areas dubbed the ‘Just Eat Retreat’ where foodies could enjoy their meal.

Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon

In 2016, for the second year running, Verve managed the sponsorship of one of Ireland’s most iconic sporting events, the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon, on behalf of Vhi Healthcare.

From city-wide branding on race day, to regional events in the months leading up to the race, we ensured Vhi truly put a fresh new look on the biggest women only running race in the world. A brand new relaxation area also took over Merrion Square where runners to chill out and enjoy the post race atmosphere. Meanwhile, RFID technology also enhanced the race day experience by displaying personal messages to runners on a giant screen as they passed a sensor and Ireland’s largest commercial drone hovered above capturing stunning aerial footage.

Electric Ireland Throwback Party

Electric Ireland invited us back to Electric Picnic this year to help them throw one hell of a Throwback Party for the festival revellers! We worked with our client to bring to life their retro look and feel of the stage and branding surrounding it. Over the weekend, thousands made their way to the Electric Ireland stage for, retro DJs, dance battles hosted by comedian Al Porter and headline sets from 90s favourite SNAP! and 80s group, Bananarama.

Meet Dublin in London

Back in May, it was all hands on deck on the Silver Sturgeon Cruiser in London, for Dublin Convention Bureau’s annual Meet Dublin In London event – hosted by former Westlife member, Brian McFadden. We created the look and feel on the day and helped ensure attendees were met with unmistakable Irish hospitality.

Boeing at the Guinness Storehouse

During the 72nd International Airline Transport Association’s annual general meeting in Dublin, we worked with Boeing to host an networking event at the Guinness Storehouse, St. James Gate. We loved giving guest the opportunity to visit the iconic Irish landmark, while enjoying food and performances from aerial gymnasts, while also getting the chance to meet other people in their industry.

Electric Ireland #StayHappy Selfie at National Ploughing Championships

With an estimated 280,000 attendees at this year’s National Ploughing Championships, Electric Ireland stood out from the crowd with an innovative brand experience.

Using a combination of custom-built software and audio visual equipment, we created an interactive experience that allowed members of the public to get behind a tractor, dance with cows, or if they were very lucky, to win spot prizes. Their #StayHappy moment was texted to consumers, allowing them to share branded content with friends and family in seconds.

Check out the video below to see it in action.

eir Pavilion at National Ploughing Championships

As headline sponsors of the National Ploughing Championships, eir needed a unique structure that stood out from the other stalls. The result was the eir Pavilion, a glass and steel structure with colourful eir branding.

Inside the pavilion people got the chance to listen to Q&As from sports personalities including Gordon Darcy, Annalise Murphy, and Andy Lee to name a few. There was also a quiz show that gathered regular crowds, and lots of interactive screens demonstrating eir broadband coverage and the latest packages available from eir.

Free wifi was provided on site, as well as “mooooobile” phone charging stations for those in need of a recharge.

Guinness Cork Jazz Festival

We loved working with our client Diageo on one of Ireland’s longest-running and most-loved festivals, the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. We created a brand new look and feel for this year’s festival, as well as city-wide branding and promotional material.

In the run up to the festival, we also took over the Guinness Cork Jazz social media pages and produced frequent, engaging content, while also putting sponsor Guinness at the forefront of all communications.

Guinness Rugby Sponsorship

We had an incredible time working with the Diageo sponsorship team in the UK and Ireland, bringing the Guinness rugby sponsorship to life at stadiums all over the British Isles. We looked after Guinness branding at Twickenham, Murrayfield and of course, the Aviva Stadium and surrounding pubs, for the Guinness Pro 12 and Guinness Series matches. This included pitch painting and branding, branded bars, photo-ops, fan zones and loads more.

Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour

Nothing says Christmas quite like the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck! For the month of December, we helped our client Coca-Cola bring some holiday cheer across the country with a nationwide tour of the truck from the iconic 90s TV ad. From Dublin to Galway, Cork to Belfast, kids and adults alike came out to see the big red truck in all it’s glory. We offered a festive photo-op for on-lookers, and for the first time an exhilarating virtual reality sleigh ride through the Coca-Cola themed village.

Google Zurich Odyssey Party

In December, our team traveled to Switzerland to help Google throw a space-inspired holiday party for employees. The venue was decked out with retro neon, old-school arcade machines, alien tentacles and astronaut suits to give the party an intergalactic feel. We also provided a interactive GIF booth for attendees.

Facebook 1EMEA

Also in December, we designed and created the concept for the stage at Facebook’s 1EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia) Awards ceremony at the Convention Centre in Dublin.
