Live events have been one of the severely affected industries hit by the Coronavirus. Sports events, concerts, and other events with mass gatherings have been postponed or cancelled. The safety of the people is the top priority right now and should always be a given in any situation.
However, some brands are not letting any virus stop them from making their event happen. Thanks to technology and the wonderful internet that many of us rely on, virtual events are becoming more popular. We’ve put together some brands that are making their live event into virtual.
From a scrappy young player touting it’s latest smartphone killer to one of the major players in the field, the meteoric rise of OnePlus has been fascinating to watch since they launched their first handset in 2014. Their most polished devices to date, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, launched to maximum fanfare this week, not diminished in any way by the event taking place entirely online!
One of the first major events to go online before the Coronavirus pandemic announcement was Salesforce’s World Tour Sydney Reimagined. The decision for the event to go virtual was made two weeks before the original date. The event took place online on the 4th of March, and the entire event was streamed online for thousands to attend virtually. Check it out here.
Adobe’s Digital Experience Conference went Digital this year because of the Coronavirus. They decided to host the week of experiences, learning opportunities, and content in an online format they are calling Summit LIVE. They were able to engage with a larger audience by making the event free. For those who weren’t able to attend the event in Las Vegas, enjoyed the digital conference in the comfort of their homes. The Irish company which has taken the concept of Bingo into the stratosphere has a distinct challenge in the world of self isolation, and has responded by bringing the madness online in its own unique fashion. In recent weeks, they’ve hosted free online events benefiting the Mater Foundation and Pieta House with more in the works.
We are all adjusting to the new norm in different ways and figuring things out as we go but the key lesson to learn here is that if there is a will, there is definitely a way.
