2020 was a pretty painful year for agencies across the world – so it’s nice to be sharing good news about expanding our team in 2021. Meet some of the fresh faces in Verve that are helping us shape the future of the events, creativity, digital and experience.
Róisín Ryan joined us from the Irish Times where her illustrations graced the covers of many Weekend Magazine covers. A graduate of IADT, Junior Designer Róisín describes herself as ‘annoyingly positive about everything’. Róisín who has just finished the ICAD Upstarts programme, has won tonnes of awards (but is too modest to mention them) like the IDI Graduate Awards.
Describe your first few months in Verve: Exciting. Friendly. Refreshing.
Dream post-pandemic destination: A Mamma Mia island in Greece
What one new account should we follow on social: @adailycloud
Tipperary native Rita O’Brien is another super talented designer who also joined our Studio recently. Rita was winner of the AMPC Rising Star Award in 2020. She’s confided that her smell is her super power ‘sniffing out the delicious treats and the items in the fridge that need the bin’.
Your Spirit Animal: Fox/Lion hybrid… because I’m pretty adaptable and have a strong mane!
Dream post-pandemic destination: Travelling to Kenya for a guided hiking trip
What one new account should we follow on social: @morison_studio @harrietpopham @itsjoeyyu @duffylondon
Duane Doogan who has come on board as a Front End Web Developer has a side hustle as a stand up comedian. Asked to describe his first few months in Verve he replied “From, my, kitchen”

Dream post-pandemic destination: I’m going to Italy to get very fat quickly.
Your spirit animal
– During lockdown in a small country village I’ve really related to needy new born lambs. Without the grass eating bit.
Matthew Morrissey joined our Events team full-time after completing an internship with us last year – he’s fresh out of college with a B.Sc in Business and Management from TU Dublin.
Dream destination or travel adventure post pandemic: Go hiking at Banff National Park, Canada
Your spirit animal and why : A bear – observant, independent, and pick up on the finer details. Yet I still like to be part of the pack (or project team)
What’s your super power (real or imaginary): Selective hearing – or so I’m told!
Shauna Taylor has also joined as a Virtual Events Manager having previously worked as for Boys & Girls. Unsurprisingly for someone who works a lot on our Google projects, Shauna described her first few months in Verve as ‘fast and Googley’.
Dream post-pandemic destination: I’d like to visit Turkey or travel around Japan for a while. Both places I’ve never been and would love to explore.
What one new account should we follow on social: @Hephee on instagram – an Irish artist who is doing some very cool street art and branding / merchandise collaborations.
Your super power: I am always able to recognise actors from other films they are in but never able to remember their names!
Simon O’Connor has joined the agency as Digital Account Manager having previously worked for Creative Events Ireland, Outset and PREM Group.
What one new account should we follow on social: @TheSocialChain. If you like infographics and statistics, you will love them.
Dream post-pandemic destination: New York or St. Anton, Austria
Your super power: My mum has always said that if I fell into the Liffey, I’d come out smelling of roses.
