6 Summer Festival Activations That We Loved Working On

01/09/2016

Here at Verve, summer is our favourite time of year. Our events team love nothing more than getting their wellies mucky at one of Ireland’s fantastic outdoor festivals.

From pirate ships to dance parties, foodie favourites to relaxation havens – we work with our clients to bring their brand to life at summer festivals up and down the country.

With the summer season coming to a close, we take a look back some of our favourite festival brand activations.

1. Electric Ireland Stage at Electric Picnic

We’ve been helping Electric Ireland bring to life their sponsorship of Electric Picnic since the festival’s early days as Ireland’s favourite boutique music festival. Through the years, we’ve helped pack out the tent with live sets by icons from the 80s and 90s including 2Unlimited, Mark McCabe, Mr Motivator, Bonnie Tyler and the Vengaboys, ensuring an all out nostalgia dance party in Stradbally! This year is no exception, as we welcomed SNAP! and Banarama to Electric Ireland tent.

2. Open Gate Brewery at Taste of Dublin

At Taste of Dublin 2016, we designed a beer and food lover’s paradise for our client Open Gate Brewery (Diageo). This year, for the first time in a century, Open Gate Brewery at St. James’s Gate has opened it’s doors to the public. To celebrate, they brought their delicious ‘Strawberry Porter’ to the Iveagh Gardens, along with experimental brews and expert food pairing for attendees to sample. Yum!

3. eir Interactive Dome at Ploughing 2015

We wowed consumers by erecting a landmark dome at the National Ploughing Championships. Inside the dome, the walls were used to display a 360 degree video that told the story of the eir rebrand. Four Oculus Rift experiences thrilled consumers with a virtual roller coaster, and an interactive touch screen allowed people to check eir coverage in their area. Added to this were sales and support areas for potential customers and great give aways that kept the eir tent full throughout the National Ploughing Championships.

4. Just Eat Street and Just Eat Waiter Service

All summer, we’ve been helping our client bring their Just Eat Waiter Service to hungry revellers at festivals up and down the country – like Body&Soul, Taste of Dublin and The Beatyard Festival.

But for this year’s Laya Healthcare City Spectacular, we did something extra special – the Just Eat Street! Running the length of Merrion Square South in Dublin and in Fitzgerald Park’s Rose Garden in Cork, the Just Eat Street had over 25 delicious food stalls, a live music stage and Just Eat Waiters, so you didn’t even have to queue. Now that’s service!

5. Captain Morgan ‘Captain’s Island’ @ Oxegen 2011

In 2011, we brought the Captain to Oxegen! Over the course of three days, we assembled a pirate ship in Punchestown Racecourse, inviting revellers to party with Captain Morgan and the Morganettes. The tent featured a packed schedule of live acts and a fully stocked spice rum bar, as well as hosting a Rock The Boat world record attempt. More than 1,000 fans participated, shattering the previous record and making headlines nationwide.

6. Coca-Cola Longitude Lounge 2016

At this year’s Longitude Festival, we worked with our client Coca-Cola to install the ultimate chill-out experience in the heart of Marlay Park. VIPs were invited to relax with a cold Coke in hammocks or at picnic benches in the super cool Coca-Cola chill zone. While outside, festival-goers had the chance to win prizes with our specially designed interactive Coke game.
