It’s going very slow and very steady, but thankfully, the vaccine rollout has finally begun. Which means our eyes are beginning to wander to the next era of events, Hybrid. Typical really, as soon as we master Virtual, we must move on! Our new skills won’t be lost though, as most of them will be brought into action when Hybrid Events begin.
So as we eagerly await our vaccine text, here are 5 benefits of hybrid events…
It’s been a long, long time since anybody has attended a physical event. So walking into a theatre, or field full of people may be daunting for some. Hybrid events will offer an opportunity for people to dip their toes back into events in a safe way. By either attending virtually, or attending an event only half-filled with other physical attendees.

Hybrid Events can be livestreamed to anywhere. This opens up the audience to anyone from across the county, country, or the continent. They will also be open to both physical and virtual attendees, meaning the opportunity for greater numbers is easy to accommodate. Plus, with the barriers of travel cost and time eliminated, more people are likely to attend.

Or maybe even triple! As the opportunity for attendees is much greater, so are the chances for advertising and sponsorship. Festivals and Events will potentially have more eyes on them than ever before, giving brand’s more opportunities for sponsorships – far beyond just owning the drinks stand beside the dance tent!
Events and festivals had become increasingly conscious of sustainability in the years leading up to the pandemic, making great strides. But the introduction of Hybrid gives us an opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint much further than we could have hoped. More virtual attendees means less emissions used to travel, and far less waste at the location.
One huge benefit of virtual and hybrid events is the option of live-streaming or on-demand viewing. This means attendees can watch the event at a time that suits them, opening it to more people and more time zones, and eliminating any scheduling issues. This extends the life of the event more than one night or weekend.

The re-introduction of full live events is just around the corner, and this is a huge step towards it. So we say roll on Hybrid Events, and roll on the Vaccine!
