Our Favourite Eight Design, Digital and Marketing Podcasts

By 08/02/2018Digital, News

Podcast listening – like on demand TV – is on a rapid rise as people choose to consume ever more personalised, niche content when and where they want. Podcasts can be a great way to absorb knowledge through osmosis but things can get difficult when we try to decide which ones to listen to. There is a world of choice out there… We’re a fairly curious bunch and know that a good idea can come from anywhere so we’ve curated some of our favourite podcasts which might give your brain something to mull over on the walk home.

1. Chips with everything – The Guardian

Chips with everything is a new digital culture and technology podcast discussing what happens when people and tech collide. Each week  Leigh Alexander and Olly Mann explore how our lives are affected, for both good and bad, by digital technologies, why we love and hate them in equal measure and how best to make sense of the rapid changes happening around us.

2. Gary Vaynerchuk (Gary Vee)

Hosted by entrepreneur, CEO, investor, vlogger, and public speaker Gary Vaynerchuk, the podcast broadcasts Gary’s views on marketing, social media, entrepreneurship and the daily hustle that brings it all together.

3. The Big Tech Show

This is a new podcast but is already gaining traction across the country. Technology editor for The Irish Independent Adrian Weckler brings listeners across the latest innovations in tech. Star guests so far include Mark Little and Jamie Heaslip, each offering their take on the world of business, marketing, technology and the impact each have on society.

4 – 99% Invisible

99% Invisible is a weekly exploration of the process and power of design and architecture. Design is everywhere in our lives and the more efficient it becomes, the more invisible it becomes . This podcast is a real hidden gem for all you design lovers.

5. The Capital B || JOE

Presented by journalist Nick Webb with a host of famous guests, the show is a must listen for any budding entrepreneur.  Webb and the panel discuss a different theme every week, from selling your startup for $100 million to starting your own international catering company. Although Series 1 wrapped up last June, the interviews are still relevant. Our favourite is the Louis Copeland episode where he speaks about the success that the Conor McGregor era has brought to his brand.

6. DNA: Design & Architecture

Design and Architecture, host Frances Anderton talks to design world leaders about the latest in products, fashion, graphics, architecture and more.  If you are a lover of design you will be sure to love this Podcast.

7. Marketing Over Coffee

Looking for a conversational but also a relaxed podcast? EventHero’s VP of Marketing, John J. Wall, and Podcamp’s co-founder, Christopher Penn, host this weekly podcast on marketing tactics old and new. They discuss some of the best strategies for inbound and outbound marketing with their guests. An easy listen that offers some handy tips for day to day implementation.

8. The Tim Ferriss Show

Tim digs deep to find the tools, tactics, and tricks that enabled great people to be who they are today. The show is generally topping the iTunes charts and we thoroughly recommend it.
