5 Things We Built at the National Ploughing Championships and Connect16

It’s been a busy fortnight here in Verve. We donned our wellies and made the trip to Tullamore for the National Ploughing Championships with eir, and Electric Ireland. Then it was onto Connect 16 where we worked with Shannon Airport promote themselves as the gateway to the West of Ireland, show off the Guinness Open Gate Brewery as well building a treehouse to showcase our own services.

Here’s a quick recap of what we got up to.

National Ploughing Championships

Electric Ireland #StayHappySelfies

Electric Ireland brought to life their #StayHappy campaign through an innovative brand experience for the estimated 280,000 attendees at the National Ploughing Championships.

Using a combination of custom software and AV equipment, we created an interactive experience that allowed members of the public to get behind a tractor, dance with cows or if they were very lucky, to win spot prizes. The #StayHappy moment was texted to consumers, allowing them to share branded content with friends and family in seconds.

eir Pavilion

As headline sponsors of the National Ploughing Championships, eir needed a unique structure that stood out from the other stalls. The result was the eir pavilion, a glass and steel structure with branding that brought the colourful eir branding to life.

Inside the pavilion people got the chance to listen to Q&As from sports personalities including Gordon Darcy, Analise Murphy, and Andy Lee to name a few. There was also a quiz show that gathered regular crowds, and lots of interactive screens demonstrating eir broadband coverage and the latest packages available from eir.

Free wifi was provided on site, as well as “mooooobile” charging stations for those in need of a recharge.

Connect16.

This year saw the inaugural Connect16 conference in the RDS. This showcase of the events industry featured over 220 hotels, venues and event suppliers, food and drink brands, the best of entertainment and 30 educational seminars. Here’s what we got up to.

Shannon Airport.

Shannon Airport brought their offering as the gateway to the the Wild Atlantic Way to life with a vibrant stall that showcased the benefits of flying into Shannon Airport. Using Samsung Gear VR headsets and 360 videos from Fáilte Ireland people were brought straight into the action of the Wild Atlantic way with surfing, mountain biking and horse riding experiences. Guinness Open Gate Brewery.

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery is a brewers project that makes experiential beers and invites customers to come in taste the new brews and learn about the beer production process. At Connect16 the Open Gate Brewery pop up bar that showcased the latest drinks from the brewery and gave customers an insight into this innovative project from Guinness.

Verve – The Live Agency

As event industry professionals, we think Connect16 is a great concept and we were delighted to attend and showcase our own services. We wanted to create an atmosphere where people could pop in, hangout and chat to our events team. The result was the Verve Treehouse.

This two story custom structure created intrigue and generated lots of visitors and networking opportunities. It also had the best view at Connect16.
