Every year during the last weekend of June, Dublin explodes in a spectrum of colour as thousands flock from all corners of the country to celebrate diversity. Established almost 40 years ago and then attended by only 8 LGBTQ activists, Dublin Pride Festival has grown to be one of the most attended festivals in Ireland, with an estimated 60,000 coming out every year to join the party.
Of course, the weeklong programme of events comes to a crescendo with the fabulous Dublin Pride Parade that weaves its way through Dublin’s streets, leaving a trail of glitter and rainbow dust in its wake.
This year, we were excited to be a part of such a monumental occasion by helping some of our clients show their colours with parade floats and events.
This year, eir and its employees made an entrance like no other when they partnered with LGBT.ie. Inspired by superheroes, the eir float looked like the pages from a comic book brought to life. They lead the convoy of colour with an unmissable American style truck adorned with decoration.
We helped Salesforce create a vibrant parade float… which literally floated through Dublin city centre. The colourful Salesforce hot air balloon sat atop the clouds and rainbows as it made its way through the streets.
Communication experts, Intercom, wanted to make a colourful splash for this years Dublin Pride Parade. We decked out their float with an inflatable rainbow love heart to celebrate love in all its forms.
Our client Smirnoff is never afraid to show it’s colours and support the LGBTQ community. For the second year running, Smirnoff sponsored the Mother Pride Block Party at the Tivoli Theatre car park. Starting at 5PM, the event featured a stellar line-up of Panti Bliss spinning retro hits, Eurovision songstress Loreen blasting out her hit ‘Europhia’ and local electro outfit Faune closing the stage.
We helped Smirnoff with all event branding including everything from stage backdrops, Smirnoff bars, staff uniforms and drinks menus.
